Device Notification Options

Devices in armed stay or armed states

Armed states and armed stays typically refer to security systems or alarm systems within the smart home. During these states, the security system is activated, and certain sensors or devices are armed to detect and respond to potential security threats.

In armed states or armed stays, smart home devices can operate as follows:

Sensors such as motion sensors, door windows, and water leakage sensors are usually included in smart home security systems. During an armed stay or armed state, these sensors remain active and will activate an alarm if any unauthorized activity is detected.

In armed stay or armed states, a door window sensor is typically armed and active. These sensors are designed to detect the opening or breaking of doors and windows while a security system is armed.

When the device notification is set in the "armed stay" mode, it assumes that occupants are inside the house, and the door window sensors will still be active. This allows you to freely move within the house while the sensors monitor the perimeter for any breaches. If a door or window is opened or tampered with, the security system will typically trigger an alarm, notifying the occupants on their smartphones through the App notifications.

Armed state:

Security is the primary focus of smart home devices in armed states. In armed states, smart home devices may be able to perform the following functions:

When a door window sensor or a motion sensor is in the "Armed" state within a smart home security system, it means that the sensor is actively monitoring the status of the door or window for any unauthorized opening or tampering.

When the system is armed, the door window sensor is in a heightened state of alertness. If a door or window is opened or tampered with, the sensor will detect the change in status.

Once the sensor detects an unauthorized event, it will send a signal to the security system. The system may then respond by triggering a siren alarm and also sending notifications to the user's connected smartphones.

Authorized users will receive real-time notifications or alerts via a smartphone app. These alerts inform the user about the specific door or window that was breached, allowing them to take appropriate action or contact the authorities if necessary.

NEVER:

The term "never stay" is not a standard security state for smart home devices. The typical security states in smart home systems include armed stay, armed away, and disarmed.

When the device notification is set to "never" and is not armed or the door/window sensor is not activated, it will not actively monitor the status of the doors or windows. The sensor remains dormant and does not send any notifications through the smartphone App.

Since the sensor is not actively monitoring, it will not trigger any alerts or notifications when a door or window is opened or tampered with. Without activation, the sensor does not play a role in the security system's operations.

ALWAYS:

When referring to "always stay" in the context of smart home devices, it typically means that the security system is set to remain in the armed stay mode continuously.

If a door window or a motion sensor is in "always" state, it could imply that the sensor is continuously active and monitoring the status of the door or window regardless of the armed or disarmed state of the security system. In this case, the sensor would provide real-time information about the door window status at all times.

Whenever the sensor detects that the door or window has been opened or tampered with, it would send a notification to the user through the smartphone App.
